Faculty of Law and Economics, Women’s Residence, University Restaurant and Mosque with retail units

Developed in association with the Kuwaiti office PACE, the project brings together several major components within one academic ensemble: a faculty building, a women’s residence, a university restaurant and a mosque with retail units. By scale alone, it belongs to the generation of public facilities that accompanied Nouakchott’s expansion.

MCB’s role covered the review of execution studies and the supervision of works. This required a constant dialogue between design, site adaptation and construction control across a complex programme where everyday use and institutional expectations had to be reconciled.

Beyond its physical footprint, the project demonstrates the office’s ability to work on large operations structured within international cooperation frameworks while remaining attentive to the practical realities of building in Mauritania.
