Delivered in association with Guyon Segond and MTC, the Lycée Théodore Monod project belongs to the wave of major school facilities built in Nouakchott in the 2010s. Its architecture is sober and climate-conscious, organised around shaded circulation areas.
MCB was involved in the studies, execution documentation and supervision of works. The mission required technical accuracy while responding to the demands of a public educational facility, coordinating multiple stakeholders and keeping to schedule.
The programme also illustrates the office’s involvement in projects supported by international partners — in this case the French Ministry of Education and the Saudi Fund — while maintaining the local anchoring that is essential to successful implementation.
